Before & After School Care/ Summer Programs
CARES Program (Children Are Receiving Extended Services)
School Year
- The school offers a state-licensed supervised care program before and after the regular school day. This program is available beginning the first day of school in August and continues through the last day of school in June. Details are sent out annually at the beginning of each year. Any parent deciding to use these services after that time may obtain information and registration forms from the school office. There is an additional fee for this program and each student should have an emergency form on file for participation.
- CARES is available 6:00AM-8:00AM before school in the Parish Hall and from the last bell of the day until 6:00PM in Memorial Hall Monday through Friday. CARES is also available on No School days, except during Federal holidays.

Summer Camp Program
- St. Pius X offers a state licensed summer program which begins the first weekday after school closes and continues through the last weekday of summer vacation. Registration forms and information on cost and theme weeks may be obtained from the school office. Click here for more detailed information.
- CARES for summer 2011:
- Summer Camp opens June 6th and is open 6:00AM – 6:00PM
- Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays children swim at Larrymore Pool.
- Tuesdays are cook out days and on Fridays we build our own Ice Cream Sundaes
- Wednesdays throughout the summer children will go on field trips. They will receive T-shirts to wear on these weekly adventures that include:
- Norfolk Zoo
- Cinema Café
- Haygood Roller Skating
- Mt Trashmore
- Jumping Jelly Bean
- Chuck E Cheese
- Bowling
- Pool parties
- Virginia Aquarium
- & Ocean Breeze
- The last day is August 19th
